Who are you?Tripix Design Fractals Art Wallpapers

My name is Naik Michel and I’ve been making traditional and digital art since 1992. When I was a kid I use to take painting classes and liked them but there was something about the power of digital graphics that amazed me. I figured out quickly how to manipulate industry leading softwares and now after many years I have accumulated a great knowledge about digital art and what it’s all about. I came over from New Zealand to study Art and Entertainment in the United Sates. I am now located in the Beverly Hills, Santa Monica area of California which is where the company is ran from. I have diplomas and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Animation (3D stuff like Shrek, special effects in movies and multimedia graphics) and also a Master in Entertainment Business (Marketing, Promotions, Business management, Public Relations, Finance…). These little skills combined helped me realize my dream to create Tripix Designs from the ground up.

Why are you doing this?

Tripix Designs was founded by the idea to bring beautiful fractal art to the masses. Created with the unique look of mixing photos of nature and fractal art together, Tripix Designs has really created a new type of style. The images use combinations of bright colors and complex patterns to intrigue and amaze viewers.

What software do you use to create your images?

Throughout my years at the Polytechnic of Christchurch and Full Sail University, I experimented and gotten better at a few applications. Some I use very in depth and some less. But here’s a list of what comes into play to create various effects and designs:

- Autodesk Maya and 3D Studio Max
- Newtek Lightwave 3D (In the old days!)
- Adobe Photohsop CS3
- GIMP
- ApoMac
- Kai’s Power Tools
- Apple Aperture 2

What kind of equipment do you use?

During the years I have managed to experiment with many different operating systems. I feel very comfortable using Windows as it is what I started on. I then learnt to use Mac when they release OSX due the the fact that it was fantastic for graphic work. Then came linux. We had to work on linux for Maya Unlimited as the school servers where setup in render farms through Red Hat Linux. So I learnt enough to get me around the operating system with ease. Very solid but not as user friendly as I would like. For this my operating system of choice now is Mac OSX.  Multimedia work seems to be fantastic to work on as the memory management is extremely efficient on the Mac OSX.
So as far as the equipment is concerned there it is:

- Apple Mac Pro (Two 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (16GB Ram, 2 TeraByte hard drives, NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600,  2x 30” Apple HD Cinema Displays)
- Apple MacBook Pro and Air (Personal Laptop also dual boot to Windows Vista)
- Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III Digital Camera (21.1 Megapixels, 3.0” LCD, DIGIC III Processing, Unmatched image quality)
- iPhone (To experiment on our mobile sites, products and it’s also great to play with!)
